Sending out queries! + the ER 😬

Some major things happened in January! At least major for this writer 😊

I sent my first query to an agent January 3rd! πŸŽ‰ Donald Maass requested my full manuscript during our one-on-one at the 2022 Realm Makers writers conference. Here’s hoping he responds 🀞🏻

Additionally, I sent queries out to nine other agents in January. My goal in 2023 is to send out at least five queries a month – So I’ve started out rocking it! Out of all ten queries, I have received one rejection so far. And when I received that rejection, we went out to celebrate 😁 This is feeling so real!

Unfortunately, I had to make a trip to the ER and ended up staying overnight in the hospital. My body did not like the medication urgent care had given me, so I couldn’t keep anything down. After going home, it took me two weeks to recover. That made a big dent in my writing time. But it also makes me extra proud of the amount of agents I was able to query.

And finally, I registered for the 2023 Realm Makers writers conference! I’m really looking forward to the amazing presentations and speakers listed. And, I’m really looking forward to the two one-on-ones I was able to sign up for: mentor appointment with Tricia Goyer and pitch appointment with Marylin Kretzer.

What is a “rejection” in your life that you can be excited about or find a silver lining?
