Continuing the theme of giving myself grace… I decided not to push myself so hard to get my manuscript polished and instead chose to:

• Extend the deadline for my last round of beta readers,
• Enjoy the holidays,
• Start sending queries out after the start of the new year.

I have such great beta readers! Here are some of their encouraging comments:

• Great sinister planning on the part of the bad guy!
• This evokes a lot of emotion from the reader. Really gripping.
• You made Nayeli a believable character and a character the reader could care about in all her struggles and triumphs.
• …you couldn’t see things coming ahead of time… and it remained suspenseful.
• Love this …creepy, very creepy.
• I stayed up way too late last night reading! The pacing made it so hard to stop reading.

Extending the beta reader deadline, focusing on the holidays, and releasing the pressure of sending out queries gave me moments of encouragement, joy, and rest. I recommend it 😉
